All of our units are manufactured using the same material and process. Taplanes prices are set for each individual unit based on quantity of material and design complexity. Material:
Taplanes units are manufactured entirely from slab polypropylene which provides both their rigid structure and durable finish. Our units do not rely on materials that are vulnerable to moisture such as wood or metal to provide structure. Our slab material has the same finish through its entire 9-12mm wall thickness eliminating the need for thin and vulnerable laminating layers.
Taplanes polypropylene provides a smooth easy clean surface. The material is also inert in that it does not support bacterial growth making our products ideal for healthcare organisations.

Manufacture:
Taplanes Joint. Taplanes patented non return joint provides a flush interlocking watertight seal cut into our 12mm thick polypropylene. This eliminates the need for rubber based materials vulnerable to corrosion. Our joint section allows our Pods, cubicles and Mini-pods to be split down into 4-6 horizontal sections to be manoeuvred into the tightest of locations.
Machining and Welding. Taplanes machine and weld our specially formulated polypropylene to form our products. Each weld is extremely tough and durable and is electrically tested to ensure complete water containment.
Specification:

Design Services:
The Taplanes engineer in your area will work with you directly and to the level you require in order tailor our products to meet where possible all your project requirements. Whatever this may involve is free of charge and usually includes initial site surveys, design services and input, provision of detailed CAD drawings, presentations/demonstrations and site backup.
If our range of products cannot be used or adapted by your Taplanes engineer to suit your project he/she will work with our in house design team to where possible provide a product that will. Taplanes will also consider any proposed new design ideas on its merits and quantity.
Installation:
All our units are designed with ease of installation in mind. They are delivered to site fully built with components packed separately or within. For sectional units the installer will remove structural straps and fascias before dissembling the unit into its 4-6 sections. The unit is then transported to and built up in its required location. Where the access is not as limited one piece units are even simpler to install and can be more cost effective.
Units are usually pre-drilled for sanitary ware and other accessories and some items can be factory fitted to reduce on site installation time/cost.

Maintenance:
Please see attached Cleaning advice download. The use of a standard detergent cleaner with a soft nylon brush or cloth is usually sufficient to clean our units. In hard water areas were lime scale build up is observed, Taplanes would recommend an acidic based cleaner.
Re-use:
Our products are robust enough to allow them to be dismantled and removed from a particular installation and reused in another without invalidating our guarantee. To our knowledge the maximum unit age at which this has been achieved is 15 years.
Environmental Policy/Recycling Service:
Taplanes polypropylene is 100% recyclable. At a small cost Taplanes will take any old units back to be recycled. These units are processed and prepared in our factory before the material is reground and reformed into new polypropylene.
Delivery:
In order to keep delivery costs to our clients to a minimum Taplanes provide an at cost delivery service. This is based on the actual cost for Taplanes to deliver a full load of shower units to your area in one trip. This delivery policy allows us to guarantee our clients a week commencing delivery date on receipt of order where required. In the week prior to delivery the schedule is organised and we are able to contact the client to confirm their delivery day and approximate time.
All our products, designs, manufacturing processes and joints are protected by international patents and design rights, and the approved quality control ( BS EN ISO 9001:2008) procedures ensures that the client receives a value added product.
