The construction and property industry charity for the homeless (CRASH), in conjunction with West London Mission, has acquired a building in London in which it will create a 'Big House'. The aim, to provide a refuse where homeless individuals can find secure, temporary accommodation whilst re-learning life skills prior to moving into permanent tenancies.

The building, an old five-floor hostel, underwent an extensive £1.2 million renovation undertaken by Construction Company Epsom Pace.

It would provide ten separate studio flats with living room, kitchen, bedroom and shower / toilet room.

Taplanes supplied all ten en suite shower modules measuring approximately 1550 (w) x 1400 (d). These units were disassembled, taken to the specified room and then reassembled. This sectional design enabled them to be carried conventionally throughout the building.

The 'Big House' was recently opened by the Rt. Hon Glenda Jackson.

Highbury College, Portsmouth, recently finished the complete refurbishment of the 'tower block'. Previously used for teaching, the tower has been completely re-designed with en suite bedrooms on the upper floors and teaching and administration on the lower floors.

The one-piece Delta shower cubicle was used on this particular project enabling a quick and immediate start. This proved extremely cost effective and reliable with no building constraints on sizing.

The YHA recently opened their latest hostel development in Oxford with the luxury appointed bedrooms boasting en suite Taplanes shower cubicles.

Located at the very center of Oxford, the hostel has proved to be extremely popular. Consequently the rooms are cleaned and prepared for new guest on a daily basis. The Taplanes cubicle was an ideal solution as the cleaning of the unit can be done both quickly and efficiently.

The cubicle is made from a material that is both hygienic and non-porous, requiring very little cleaning time.

The shower enclosures supplied were one-piece in design with installation taking place prior to the fitting out of the bedrooms.
